Saturday football
Newcastle did us a favour last night and as things stand it looks like a battle between us and Man U for the last UEFA place, with Spurs and Wolves as outsiders in the mix.

EVERTON vs MANCHESTER UNITED (1230)
Everton have nine games to save their top flight bacon. Among their opponents are Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. And tricky games against Leicester (twice), Brentford and Palace. Has Frankie boy bitten off more than even he can chew? Man U are fighting for UEFA qualification and won’t be easy opponents. One thing that can be said for the Toffees is that they know how to fight. Will that be enough? Draw.

ARSENAL vs BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION (1500)
Brighton’s form in recent months has seen them drop from the fringes of Europe to the fringes of relegation. Arsenal’s form, with one or two notable exceptions, has been little short of stellar. Straightforward, you’d think. Home win.

SOUTHAMPTON vs CHELSEA (1500)
The Saints will look to Brentford’s performance last week for encouragement. Can they make it a hattrick of comprehensive losses for the Blues? Draw.

WATFORD vs LEEDS UNITED (1500)
It increasingly appears that 34 points will be enough for survival. Leeds are within touching distance of that and will fancy their chances against a Watford side that look certain for the drop. There’s something impressive about Jesse Marsch and he’ll have his players well motivated for their visit to Vicarage Road. Away win.

ASTON VILLA vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (1730)
Villa are well clear of the danger zone, but will still want to maximise their return from the remaining games. You never know quite what you’re going to get with Spurs and Villa will hope to put a dent into the aspirations of today’s visitors. Draw.

*SUNDAY*

BRENTFORD vs WEST HAM UNITED (1400)
Few people expected Brentford to survive the season, but they seem to have achieved it – almost. Their confidence will be sky-high after putting four past Chelsea last week. Our confidence will be middling after drawing with Lyon on Thursday, and our attention may be worryingly divided between this trip towards Heathrow and next week’s visit to France. Something for David Moyes’ man-management abilities. Christian Eriksen’s arrival has worked wonders for the Bees, be it for his skills on the field or just his presence in the Brentford camp. This will be a hard game. Draw.

LEICESTER CITY vs CRYSTAL PALACE (!400)
Both sides are on 37 points and seem to have little left to play for this season. Draw.

NORWICH CITY vs BURNLEY (1400)
Norwich are gone. Burnley are fighting hard for survival and got a vital win over Everton in midweek. They’ll fancy leaving mustard country with all three points. Away win.

MANCHESTER CITY vs LIVERPOOL (1630)
Nothing useful to add to what you already know. Draw.

*CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND-UP*

Fulham host Coventry tomorrow in a game that should see them just two points from mathematically promoted. Today’s early kick-off sees Bournemouth add further cement to their runner-up aspirations as they travel to Sheffield Utd, who are deep in the play-off mix. Just four points separate third from eighth, and it’s anyone’s guess which of those six teams (Huddersfield, Luton, Forest, Sheff U, M’boro, Blackburn) will make it to the final play-off four, but we’ll be playing one of them next season. At the bottom, none of the three sides occupying the relegation places – Barnsley, Derby, Peterborough – are likely to climb above the dotted line.

Watched a recording of MOTD this morning ... Chelsea should have given Southampton another 9-0 at least. 12-0 would have been a fair reflection. Werner hit the woodwork 3 times along with scoring twice. WERNER!

Brighton looked much the better team at Arsenal and deserved the win.
Seems that everyone called Enoch these days is black & he scored a cracking winner. Tierney being out for the season is a catastrophe for Arsenal defensively and even more so going forward. As usual their 'young stars' Saka & Smith-Rowe are prominent when they are winning but utterly anonymous when the team needs a lift.

Re: Saturday football
Conte was an excellent appointment for Spurs, unfortunately.

It looks like he’s gonna get them top 4, but had they got him in at the start of the season, they probably would have had a trophy as well as a top 4 finish.

Okay. Maybe you read it on a different thread or something. I know you love to indulge in a spot of "according to people on here..." to make it look like you're the lone voice of reason in a sea of idiocy, so knock yourself out.

Couldn't give a fuck what you read son, I read comments on here such as ''it will all end in tears' 'him and Levy will be at war' 'he won't hang around once better offers come in' etc..

I just had a look on the thread on here when he got appointed. Nearly everyone said that Conte would improve them. Didn't see anyone say it was even slightly amusing.

Steady on Manuel, they are in form but it wasn't long ago they were on a bad run.

I recall that some experts on here thought it was highly amusing when Tottenham appointed Conte, yea fucking hilarious, innit experts.

Fourth spot went a while ago, 6th is our target, and we need to win today.

I live in Birmingham and was in the City this afternoon, saw loads of Spurs fans making there way to the game. The police could have had a few hours off. Not one song, no chants, I was quite staggered to be honest. Said to my Fiance, they are pussies. If that was us, it would have been chaos.

KSK are the most lethal front 3 I’ve ever seen.

Better than MSN I’d say.

Blimey. Spuds still play Leicester, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Calm down and take it one game at a time. This is so far a decent weekend for us and we have to complete it tomorrow. Hopefully by half time.

I’m loving the fact that our new fans on here are already writing us off even before we have played.

The old guard, pre 2000, are just enjoying the ride.

Re: Saturday football
The Arsenal result today has given us a massive incentive for 5th spot. Win tomorrow then arguably our biggest game of the season is them at home league wise. We have to win tomorrow though and that's far from certain as we're at the crunch point now where we have to start prioritizing.

4th definitely gone barring something extraordinary
